I gathered up my closest friends and we went on a tour of SJC. It was fun, interesting, filling, and just a great day! I recommend it 1000%.

Yesterday, Maxine and I had the opportunity to tour one of California’s most historic cities, San Juan Capistrano. We took this excursion with Flavors of San Juan Capistrano. The tour consisted of many stops at some great restaurants & shops as well as historical spots in the city. Being a California native, I was so impressed with the historical significance of SJC as well as the knowledge of our guide, Laura. We were enlightened with facts about some of the real estate, transportation methods, and some of SJC’s more notable residents. The restaurants in this area of SJC are incredible! We enjoyed the food that was offered by each of the restaurants we visited. This is a tour that everyone will enjoy and shouldn’t be missed! Thank you Flavors of San Juan Capistrano and thank you Laura!

Wow, what a great day. Have you ever done a progressive dinner party with your friends? You visit each friend’s home and they take turns serving you their culinary specialty from coffee, pastry, appetizer, wine, soup, dinner, right down to dessert. Well, this is it, except neither you or your friends have to lift a finger. Everything was so delicious, but the best part was that Laura, our guide was flexible and accommodating. A little more shopping time? A bit more wine time? No problem. And with all of this we learned the history of one of Southern California’s oldest and most beautiful city. I was concerned because I am in a wheelchair and didn’t want to delay the group, but I did not feel uncomfortable and was able to stay with them at all times. I have been to SJC many times and have never seen the places that Laura introduced us to on this tour. Very impressive Laura, thank you so much for a wonderful day. I will be back with different friends and relatives.

Went on the walking food tour with Flavors of San Juan Capistrano today and I highly recommend it! It was fun, we met some really nice people and I cannot believe how much good food and wine we got. We will definitely go back to some of these restaurants. And the guide was pretty funny too:)

HIGHLY recommended! I moved to the area with my boyfriend 6 months ago and decided to look at some ‘touristy’ things to do while my mom was visiting from out of town. I expected a good fun day out but this exceeded my (and my group’s) expectations. Owner and guide Laura was amazing with her wealth of knowledge and was highly attentive to answering any questions we had, the culinary selections were delightful and I know I now have a number of new great restaurant/cafe/bar locations I’ll frequent (particularly around the gorgeous Los Rios area) and everything was well paced with a lovely final stop for Gelato. Great concept, great tour and well worth the money – thanks Laura!

My friend and I just enjoyed a wonderful Saturday with “Flavors of San Juan Capistrano”! What a great way to celebrate my birthday, in the sunshine and history-steeped charm of this marvelous old city. Although I have lived in Southern California my entire life and been to Capistrano several times, I learned a great deal of fascinating local history from Laura, our lovely tour guide. We stopped in at several distinctive and delightful eateries, sampling everything from hot-out-of-the-oven cookies at Hidden House Coffee to the heavenly signature creamy soup at Sundried Tomato Café (I was tempted to dive in the bowl!). One of my favorite parts of the excursion was strolling Los Rios Street, the oldest residential street in the state. Original adobe homes with gorgeous olive trees brought over from the Old World, and some of the same families inhabiting the grounds through generations—fantastic.

We really loved everything about this tour, from the food and wine, to the shops and beautiful architecture. We had a great group of people and pleasant conversation peppered the journey, which ended with my favorite thing: dessert!

We will most certainly be back, and plan to ride the Metro next time for an added bit of adventure.

Wow, what a great time. We have been to SJC dozens of times but discovered many new places on this tour. The tour guide was fantastic. It was a perfect blend of walking, history, eating and shopping. My husband and I took along my 88 year old mother and it was a perfect day. We all really enjoyed it and would highly recommend to others.
